IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacquelyn S
Lea
October 22, 1930 – April 6, 2021
Jacquelyn Saturday (Lynn, Harrison) Lea, (90), of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. She was born in Collins, Georgia on October 22, 1930, to Adel Saturday (Cowart) and Homer Saturday. Her official birthday according to government records is October 21, 1930, but she said her father wrote the wrong date down when he went into town to record her birth. She said she was born on the 22nd, and wasn't going to change it, so that's what we have celebrated her entire life.
She married Frank Lynn on December 31, 1946 and they had 47 years together before he passed in 1993 and they had three children. They moved to Jacksonville in 1957. She married James D. Harrison in 1994 and had four good years until he passed away in 1998. She has been married to Wallace Lea since 2007.
She has been a faithful member of Southside Estates Baptist Church/Kernan Blvd. Baptist church since 1958. She taught the Ladies Class for several years and a was member of the choir and later the Senior Adult choir. In her earlier years she loved to crochet and read and she loved football…particularly the University of Georgia and the Jaquars. During her working years, she was an executive assistant with May Cohens and Ivey's.
She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Patsy Coley, Claudell Williamson and Marjorie Jones. She is survived by her three children, Joy Anderson (Ron), Greg Lynn (Debbie) and Vicki Lynn. She has five grandchildren, Tracy Garmon, Cory Garmon, Lindsay Lynn, Brooke Foster and Franki Sturgess. She also has five great-grandchildren, Ressa Penland, Naomi Penland, Cynthia Penland, Knox Foster and Essie Foster. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family-only service, where she will be interred next to her husband, Frank.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kernan Blvd. Baptist Church, 4000 Kernan Blvd S, Jacksonville, FL, 32224.
The family also wishes to thank Heritage Crossings Assisted Living Facility for all their care and attention given to our Mom for the past two years. The staff were wonderful and she enjoyed her stay there. We would also like to express our gratitude to Community Hospice during her final days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Arlington Park Funeral Home.
