James Robert (Bob) Moore, 94, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away September 3, 2016. Born December 25, 1921, Bob was the son of Robert Moore and Ruth James Moore of Petersburg, VA.

Bob was a loving husband for 65 years to Dot Moore who passed in 2009. He was also a devoted father and loving grandfather. Bob was a World War II veteran having served in the Navy in the Pacific theater as an aircraft maintenance technician. He was a Virginia Tech graduate and an avid fan who could be seen sporting the Virginia Tech colors frequently. Bob was a civil engineer and worked successively for Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, and finally CSX Railroad. He was known throughout the community for his kindness and support of those in need.

He was an active member of St Paul United Methodist Church in Arlington for 48 years. His church activities were many and he served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at St Paul for many years.
He is survived by his son, Jay Moore (Kathy), his two daughters, Karen Chaires (Glenn) and Kristin Beasley (Charles), grandchildren, Chris Moore, Lauren Rowans (Tim), Kelsey Chaires (Nick), and Alex Chaires, and great-grandchildren, Christopher Moore, Pierce Rowans, and Quinn Rowans.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home. Services will be September 8 at 10:00 am at St Paul United Methodist Church followed by interment at Arlington Park Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in his name be made to St Paul United Methodist Church, 8264 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
