Obituary of James Bradley

James A. Bradley, 81, went home to be with the Lord on August 17th 2009. James was born in Lexington, Mississippi and joined the U.S. Navy in 1946. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. During his eleven years of service James was awarded many commendations including the China Service Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal. He was on the team that conducted the first Hydrogen Bomb test in 1952 on Enewetak in the Marshall Islands and an Atomic Bomb test also in 1952. James was an active member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and faithfully read his Bible every day.

James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances "Betty" Bradley; son, James K. Bradley, Sr.; daughter, Kimberly Bradley Blalock (Charles); grandson, James "Kenny" Bradley, Jr. (Crystal); four great grandchildren and his brother, Gilbert Bradley (Dean)

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 20th 2009 in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10:15-11:00. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to either Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or to the charity of your choice.
