James David Carpenter, Jr., born May 26, 1946, to James David Carpenter, Sr. and Myrtle Faye Moore Carpenter, passed away January 27, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. "Jimmy" was a painter for the Coca-Cola Company and part owner of the Carpenter Casket Company before retiring. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by sons, James David (Sara) Carpenter III, Joseph Daniel (Katie) Carpenter; grandchildren Ashley Nicole Carpenter, James David Carpenter IV "Jace", Hanna Reese Carpenter, John Daniel Carpenter, Joseph Dawson Carpenter, Jackson David Carpenter, Ava Carpenter, and Aspen Carpenter; sisters Barbara Justice (Al), Edy Jackson (Ben), and Linda Patrick; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The Carpenter family will receive friends 12 noon to 1 PM for a Visitation Gathering, Friday, February 3, 2017 in the Chapel of the funeral home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211.
