Obituary of James Cooper
James E. Cooper, "Big Daddy", 66, passed on to his Heavenly home surrounded by his family on September 21, 2009. A resident of Macclenny, Florida he was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 23, 1942. Mr. Cooper was a retired Lieutenant from the Austell, Georgia Police department and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Georgia. He loved family gatherings and playing golf. He is predeceased by two sons: Richard Cooper and Timothy Ellington. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Cooper; son, James B. Cooper; daughter, Esther Vorhees, Angel Roark, and Virginia "Jenny" Cooper Adams (Tony); Grandchildren, Rick Adams, Brandie Adams, Kyle Roark, Kaleb Roark, Kenny McGuigian, Monica Beck, Marcia Cole and Theresa Savage; 10 great grand children, and 4 sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 11:00am in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, with Pastor Winford McCormick, officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2009.
