Obituary of James Haist

James Edward Haist, age 91, of Atlantic Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on August 4, 2010. He was born on July 6, 1919 in Buffalo, New York to Walter and Lillian Haist. James was the oldest of two children. He married Catherine "Kay" Thomas in 1944 and they had two children. He proudly served in the Coast Guard during WWII. He was a longtime resident of Atlantic Beach and was employed as a sales professional for 50 years. James was a member of Palms Presbyterian Church and enjoyed tennis and golf.

Jim was preceded in death by his second wife Abigail and will be remembered by his children Thomas Haist, of Harrisburg, PA and Joanna Haist, of Willow Grove, PA. He is also survived by his step children Beth Leow and Abigail Morgan.

Relatives and friends are invited to a service of remembrance for James at 10:30 am on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Fleet Landing, 1 Fleet Landing Blvd., Atlantic Beach, FL 32233, 904-246-9900. Interment will follow at a later time in Abington, Pennsylvania.
