It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of James Howard Harmon Sr.
James Howard Harmon Sr., age 67, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Born in 1958, James was known for his unwavering kindness, quiet strength, and deep devotion to his family and friends.
Throughout his life, James embraced hard work, humility, and generosity. He was the kind of man who always had time for others. Known as a gentle giant with a huge heart and a sense of humor, his presence brought comfort and stability, and his love touched all who knew him.
James was a man of quiet strength and steady faith, always offering a kind word, a helping hand, or a listening ear. James had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures—including family gatherings, time spent in nature, and a passion for animals and fishing.
James worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family, earning the respect of all who knew him for his integrity and work ethic. He will be remembered for his warm heart, love for life, strength, and compassion.
James is preceded in death by his father Earl Harmon Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Mills Harmon, his children, including James Harmon Jr. (JJ), Jessica Harmon, and Stephen Mills. His mother Billie Harmon Carmichael (Neal), his brother Earl Harmon Jr. (Shirley), his sisters, Glenda Harmon Bennett and Nina Harmon Morgan, and his grandchildren, Jocelyn, and Tyler. He is also survived by many, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held on July 19, 2025, at Decca Live in Jacksonville Florida from 11am-3pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend and honor the life of a remarkable man who gave so much to so many.
