Obituary of James Hendrick

Dr. James Wesley Hendrick, 88, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 5, 2011. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and caring friend to all who knew him. Dr. Hendrick was born on September 4, 1923, in Keithville, LA to the late John and Mary Hendrick. Dr. Hendrick graduated from Tulane Medical School and did his internship at Charity Hospital New Orleans. He also served in World War II and the Korean War in the United States Army. Dr. Hendrick was an OB/GYN physician for many years in Jacksonville, Florida and a long time member of Arlington United Methodist Church and Hidden Hills Country Club. He is survived by his loving wife Janice Hendrick of 66 wonderful years; children James Hendrick Jr., Lisa (Chet) Comerford and Bart (Sheree) Hendrick; grandchildren Kristina Ling, Kelly Ling, Derek Porter, James Hendrick III, Catelynn Hendrick, John Hendrick and Janice Hendrick; great-grandchild Janice Ling and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and a funeral service at Arlington United Methodist Church, 1400 University Boulevard North, on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers gifts may be given to Arlington United Methodist Church.
