James B Higgs (Jimmy) passed away April 1, 2017 at the age of 78. Born on December 14, 1938 to the late Olzie and Lucille Higgs, he was the oldest of 4 children. Jimmy is preceded in death by his sisters, Darlice Brown and Olzilene O'Berry. He is survived by his sister, Lounell Smirnoff; 2 nieces Ebby Parker and Bonnie Ricks; 3 nephews, Bernie Brown, Colos Powel, Sr and Thomas Murray, Jr.; 6 great nieces, Melody Greenbaum, Jesse Brannon, Elizabeth McLaughlin, Jackie Henz, Cierra Powell and Emily Powell; 5 great nephews, Marlin Parker, Christopher Brown, Mathew Brown, Cory Ricks and Colos Powell Jr., along with several great great nieces and nephews, cousins and lots of great friends. One of Jimmys favorite things was wrestling with his favorite wrestler being Dusty Rhodes who he got the chance to meet in person and became great friends who corresponded with each other for several years, He also was a great fan of Elvis. But, most of all Jimmy loved the Lord. He was born with Cerebral Palsy, which affected his ability to walk or talk, but if you wanted to know anything about any living or past president he was the one to go to and ask. Jimmy often talked about going home to heaven and how once he got there he was going to stand on his feet and take off running to find Jesus and sit down and talk a while with him, and when he was finished talking to Jesus he was going to see his Momma and Daddy and other loved ones and give them big hugs and sit and talk for a long while. The family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home on Lone Star Rd, 6-8PM, Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Jimmy's going home celebration will be 2PM, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Arlington Park Cemetery, with Rev. Robert Bennett officiating.
