Obituary

James "Jim" Larry Highley, 78, of Jacksonville, FL passed peacefully on January 17th surrounded by his family.

Jim was born in Middletown, Ohio on November 19, 1944. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Pam; his sisters, Linda (Tom), Ruth and Debbie (George); his brother, Doug (Karen); his daughters, Gina and Karen; his son, Jim (Nicol); his grandchildren, Kyla (James), Megan (Stephen) and Tony; and numerous darling nieces and nephews.

Jim was a proud Navy veteran who served on the USS Franklin D Roosevelt. He had long careers managing IT departments for and retired from both Xerox and Blue Cross.

Jim was an intense fan of all sports and racing. He especially followed the Ohio Buckeyes, Jacksonville Jaguars, Florida Gators and Tampa Bay Bucs. Jim was an avid collector of memories and stories. He always had a camera ready and took meticulous notes in his phone about everyone and everything. He had a real interest in and deep appreciation for documenting and sharing his experiences with friends and family.

Jim and Pam are grateful for the fellowship and support of Faithbridge Church.
