Obituary of James Mitchell

James Berlie Mitchell, 66, passed away April 17, 2009 at a local hospital.

James was born in Harrisburg, PA to the proud parents of James and Elfa Mitchell. On November 24, 1962, James married his sweetheart Judith. He joined the US Navy in 1960 serving proudly for four years. After the military, James attended Jacksonville University where he earned his Bachelors degree in 1968. While in college, he was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity. James owned and operated Trans State Motors for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed and loved anything racing. At one time, he even raced cars himself. He was also an avid Gator fan.

James is survived by his children Julie and Kevin Warren, John and Holly Mitchell and James Brian Mitchell; father James Mitchell of Harrisburg, PA; grandchildren Jordan Warren and Savannah Mitchell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins all who will mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife Judith Hubbard Mitchell and mother Elfa Mitchell.
