James "Jim" Lucien Pfeiffer, 91, peacefully passed away on June 1, 2025. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on December 25, 1933, to Charles J. Pfeiffer, Sr. and Eleanor S. Pfeiffer (Schroeder). He is survived by his wife Gloria, daughters Lynda Wagoner (Fred) and Susan Thompson (Todd); four grandchildren Ryan Wagoner (wife Allyson), Ashley Thompson, Blake Thompson and Chase Thompson. He is preceded in death by his brother Charles J. Pfeiffer, Jr. and his wife Margie. On June 4, 2025, Jim and Gloria would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Jim was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and attended Jacksonville University. He joined the Army and was stationed in Ft. Story, Virginia, where he would meet his wife, Gloria. Jim enjoyed a long and successful career surrounding public service and law enforcement, serving Jacksonville Sheriff's Office for 21 years, where he was promoted to Detective Sgt. of Vice Squad until he retired in 1980 to become Director of Security for Pic 'N Save until they closed in 1996. He continued his career with River City Security well into his 80s. Jim's community involvement was tremendous throughout his lifetime. He was a proud member of The Fraternal Order of Police, Past President of the Arlington Optimist Club, Past Distinguished District Governor of the Florida District Optimist 1976-1977, Morocco Temple Provost Guard, a member of the National Association of Retired Cops (NARCS), and a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm, Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211.
