Obituary of James Roach

James Douglas Roach, Sr., 65 years of age, a loving husband and father, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2009. Mr. Roach passed away at McGraw Hospice Center after an extended illness. A native of Jacksonville, he graduated from Landon High School, Florida Community College at Jacksonville, and attended University of North Florida. Mr. Roach was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, an entrepreneur, and enjoyed a long career in the insurance industry. Mr. Roach was a member of First Baptist Church Jacksonville-Downtown, a member of Wm. B. Barnett Lodge No. 187, and the Scottish Rite. Mr. Roach was married in 1966 to his wife, Pam. In addition to his wife, Mr. Roach is survived by his son Jim Roach, Jr. (Teresa), Jacksonville; son Matt Roach, Jacksonville; a sister, Beverly Roessner (Ted), Columbus, Georgia; and a brother, Rev. Kenneth Roach (Terri Jo), Jacksonville. Arlington Park Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Arlington Park.
