James Leo Tibbetts, 89 years old of Jacksonville, FL, was taken by the Lord on April 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born October 31, 1933 in Bridgeport, CT to Margaret Johnson and adopted by Harold Tibbetts.

At the young age of 17 he enlisted in the US Marine Corp., where he fought in the Korean War. After serving 10 years in the Marines he went back home to be with his mother.

Later in his life in 1979 Jim moved his family to Jacksonville, FL, where in 1984 he met Sara and quickly knew this would be forever.

Jim re-enlisted in the Army and finished his career and retired from the military at 60 years old.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Harold Tibbetts. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sara Tibbetts; his sons Brian Tibbetts, James Tibbetts (Rebecca),

Sean Tibbetts (Sherry), Kyle Tibbetts (Jennifer),John Schmidt (step-son), Daughter Loraine Hundley; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jim loved the outdoors, running and was avid about his Harley, Jim loved life and most of all loved his family.
