James Clayton Wallace Sr., 85, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on November 26, 1940, to Lois and Buddy Wallace, Clayton lived a life defined by hard work, kindness, and devotion to those he loved. He was known as a man who could accomplish nearly anything he set his mind to and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.

Clayton dedicated more than 30 years of service as an engineer with the Florida Department of Transportation, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues through his strong work ethic and commitment.

Above all, Clayton was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Judy, and was a proud and supportive father to his son, Clay.

Clayton found great joy in fishing, cheering on Florida State University athletics, working on cars, and spending time outdoors. His warmth, wisdom, gentle spirit, and steady guidance touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Clay Wallace; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Wallace; grandchildren, Brayden and Addison Wallace; and brother, Floyd Wallace.

Clayton’s legacy of love, hard work, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
