Obituary of Jane Retter

Jane Hunter Retter passed away on Feb. 12, 2008. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 15, 1919. She was a beloved wife, wonderful mother, fun loving grandmom and a caring friend. .In her 'younger days', Jane was a favorite Sunday school teacher, a sought after bridge partner, an able bowler and the queen of the dance floor.

Jane lived voraciously with an exuberance unmatched. Even in her last year of life when Alzheimer's had taken its toll, she displayed her very special sparkle. This sparkle was especially evident on the dance floor in the arms of her husband, George, who cherished her. Jane had 3 focuses in her life that defined her: Her love for the Lord, her love for her children and grandchildren, and her 68 year romance with her sweetheart and husband, George.

Survivors include her husband, George, her daughter, Deborah Arnau, and her son George along with four grandchildren; Kristen, Brooke, Blaine and Ashley. In remembrance of her, a memorial has been established with the Alzheimer's Association.

St Paul's Methodist church on Lonestar Road will host the visitation at 9: AM, service at 10: AM and a reception at 11:30 following the burial at Arlington Park Cemetery.
