Janet Williams Hoffman, 80, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Northeast Florida Community Hospice, McGraw Center for Caring, Jacksonville, Florida. She was born February 1, 1936 in Vernon, New York to Roy B. and S. Bernice (Groff) Williams. Janet was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School Class of 1954. She married her beloved husband Clayton D. Hoffman, April 16, 1956 and they had 43 years together before he passed away in 2000. Janet was employed for 25 years at the SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse, New York. She was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church, Super Seniors and the Lively Bunch Bowling League at Bowl America in Jacksonville, Florida. She also belonged to the New York State Retired Public Employee Association and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #144 N. Syracuse, New York. Survivors include her five children, Paula Robinson (Jeffrey), Beth Sgroi (Kenneth) Marcia Merritt, David Hoffman (Janet) and Linda Karins (James); grandchildren, Brian Robinson (Lindsay), Tracy Robinson, Jessica Linder (David), James Callea (Wendi), Steven Brink, Rachel and Colton Merritt, Nicole Fitzgibbon, Jennifer and Joseph Hoffman, Brandon Caza and James III, Dylan and Cassidy Karins; great grandchildren, Deacon, Isaac and Zander Harris, David Linder, Jr., Kirsten Wigginton, Kannon Waschell, Corban Callea, Victoria Kronmarker and Nathanial Karins; brother, George Williams (Barbara); cousin, Betty Kulesza and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Clayton, Janet was predeceased by her grandson Kenneth H. Sqroi III and her sister Monica Goettman. A memorial service will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Arlington UnitedMethodist Church, 1400 University Blvd. N, Jacksonville, Florida. Burial will be in Maple GroveCemetery, Vernon, New York.
