Obituary of Jean Verner
Jean Andrews Verner was born on June 16, 1933 in Tampa, FL. Jean was raised in old Arlington and graduated from Landon in 1952. She is predeceased by her parents, Henry J. and Agnas Andrews and brothers Dennis and Clint. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence M., daughter, Suzan L. Verner, brothers, Tom (Cheryl) and Hank Andrews; sister, Mildred and sister-in-law, Nola Andrews. They first met on a blind date that turned into a lifetime love affair. Jean was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and career woman who loved her church and was a charter member of A.B.C. Jean had a great friendship with Dr. Robert Gee and Kay Witty throughout her life. Her career started with Merrill-Stevens Shipyard in payroll to Cigna Ins. to banking. At Cigna, she traveled throughout the USA on the production service corps. Jean was true to her Lord and worked at the church with other ladies on the bereavement committee. Her funeral service will be Monday, October 20 at 12:00pm at Arlington Baptist Church, 6009 Arlington Road, Jacksonville, FL with Pastor Eddie Lockamy and Franklin Street Pastor Terry Gore officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery.
