IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerome
Ehlen
June 27, 1942 – September 1, 2021
Jerome "Jerry" Ehlen
June 27, 1942 – September 1, 2021
Jerry Ehlen passed away at his home in Jacksonville, FL on September 1, 2021 at the age of 79. He is predeceased by his wife Shelby Tallevast Ehlen (1947-1991) and parents Albert "Ole" and Clara (Reger) Ehlen. He is survived by his three brothers Charles, Donald and Thomas Ehlen. He will be lovingly remembered by his four children Daniel (Stephanie) Ehlen, Karen (Donny) Rye, Linda (Howard "JR" Dyal) Ehlen, Jonathan "Jay" (Roshni Patel) Ehlen; six grandchildren Cody, Kallie and Whitney Rye, Brennan Ehlen, Xavier and Xayden Dyal; his significant friend Betty Kelly; and his many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was born in Wadena, MN, grew up in Alexandria, MN and attended Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN. He relocated to St. Louis, MO, where he met his wife, completed his MBA at St. Louis University, and started working at Anheuser-Busch. Jerry and Shelby moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1974 when Jerry was transferred to Anheuser-Busch's Metal Container Corporation where he worked until his retirement in 1989. Sadly, Shelby died in 1991 and Jerry raised their four kids as a single father. He never remarried. In retirement, Jerry was a serial entrepreneur until he decided to hang his hat for good in the mid 2000's. He was always the life of the party—he loved to sing and dance, tell jokes, and debate. His infectious smile will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 5 at 10am at Arlington Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL where he will be interred near his wife.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Arlington Park Funeral Home.
