IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerry Wayne
Fowler
December 10, 1940 – December 3, 2025
Jerry Wayne Fowler, 84, of Jacksonville, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2025. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Jerry was a man of kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith. His calm and gentle presence brought comfort to everyone who knew him.
A devoted husband for 52 years, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jerry's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a beacon of hope for his family, offering Godly examples and constant prayer support.
Jerry is now joyfully reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Shirley; daughter, Michele; mother, Virginia; father, Charles Brady Sr.; and brothers, Thomas and Charles Brady Jr. He leaves behind daughters Alacia Fowler and Rene' Rogers (Robert), son-in-law Walter Curry; grandchildren Cheryll Andrews (Chris), Katie Watson (Ralph), Nicole McCann (Luke), Bobbi Belgrano (Mauricio), Chelsi Wilson (Matt), Keri Merkle (Stratton), Michael Robinson (Morgan), and Sheila Nowlin (Daniel); 25 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family who will cherish his memory forever.
A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville since 1979, Jerry served as a Sunday School teacher for 42 years—a role he embraced with joy and dedication until the end of his life.
Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, stationed in Germany. After his military service, he began a 48-year career with Genuine Auto Parts (NAPA), where he met the love of his life, Shirley.
He loved to travel, especially taking trips to the mountains in the fall to admire the changing leaves, relaxing with Shirley in a beach house on Sanibel Island, and enjoying many memorable cruises together. These experiences were among his most treasured memories
Jerry's life was a true testament to his faith. While we mourn his passing, we rejoice knowing he is at peace in the arms of Jesus.
A memorial service for Jerry will be held on Friday, December 12th at 1:00 PM
