Obituary

Jessie Angelita Harvey, 77, of Jacksonville, FL went home to heaven on October 29, 2020.  She was born July 21, 1943 in Brownsville, TX, the daughter of Donald A. and Angelita Swinney (deceased), the oldest of four siblings.

Jessie graduated from Southwest Miami High School in 1961, in Miami, FL where she grew up.  After high school she married Ronald V. Fields (deceased) and they eventually settled in Jacksonville, FL with three boys where she resided until her passing.

After the passing of her first husband she was remarried to Charles W. Harvey and they shared the last 28 loving years together.  She enjoyed a long career and retired from Mazda Motors where she specialized in customer relations.  Jessie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church serving in several capacities, but her heart was in teaching Sunday school.  She was enormously dedicated to her classes, constantly studying lessons and continuously praying for us all.  Affectionately known to her family as "Nana", her love of family was reflected in her ever present refrain "Love you more!"

She is survived by her husband Charles W. Harvey, sons, Ronald V. Fields (Pam), John S. Fields (Kim), James C. Fields (Susan), sister, Jeannie Fuertes (Andy), brothers, Jim Swinney (Michelle), Joe Swinney (Cheryl), grandchildren, Jasmin Fields, Makenzie Belton (Trevor), Hunter Fields, Cameron Craven, Kirsten Fields, Delaney Fields, Devin Floyd and many nieces and nephews.

While our hearts are saddened, they beat with gratitude for the love, guidance, wisdom and joy that she gave to us.  She leaves us with this verse, "You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is the fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forever more", Psalms 16:11.

A viewing will be held at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville on November 5, 2020 from 12:30 – 2:00 PM with a funeral service to be observed at the church immediately following the viewing.  She will be cremated and interred at Arlington Park Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are by Arlington Park Funeral Home.

The family asks that those wishing to donate in lieu of sending flowers do so to First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund.
