Jim "Edward" Oliver Jr., who went by Edward, passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 70. Born in Sylvania, Georgia, on July 15, 1953, he was the beloved son of the late Jim Edward Oliver Sr. and Shirley Anne Waters.

Edward is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Jennifer Wheeler Oliver, and his children Jennifer, Joshua (Bridget), Jessie (Jeff), and Wesley (Brooke); and his grandchildren, Kaylyn, Wyatt, Presley, Peyton, and Grady. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sarah Nichole Oliver and his earlier wives, Elizabeth and Laura.

Edward was a simple man with many friends who loved having a really good time. Known for playing the drums in a band, growing his hair long, telling stories and wearing copious amounts of cologne, Edward had a fun-loving presence that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Born an only child, Edward moved to Jacksonville, FL, in 1972, where his life took a joyful turn when he married into a large, loving family. He gained 8 brothers and sisters and became a cherished uncle to 32 nieces and nephews.

He found immense joy in camping, hunting, fishing, coaching baseball, listening to music, telling stories, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He loved life, watching his children grow and playing with his grandchildren.

Edward's legacy lives on through his family, who carry forward his love for the simple pleasures in life. He will be deeply missed, but remembered for his love, laughter and charisma.

A graveside service to celebrate Edward's life will be held on Thursday, June 20th at 11:00am at Arlington Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Edward's honor.

Edward will always be remembered for his love for his family, his zest for life, and the countless memories he created with those around him.
