John Newman Bryant, 66, passed away on July 14, 2018 at St. Vincent's South in Jacksonville, Florida.
John was born April 6, 1952 in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He was a devoted Gator fan and attended the University of Florida where he earned his Juris Doctorate from the College of Law in 1977. During his college tenure, he served as President of Florida Blue Key and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. For the past 41 years, John has been practicing law in Jacksonville, Florida.
John enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to play golf and was a member of Deercreek Country Club. He was also an active Mason at Riverside Lodge, 33 rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, York Rite Mason, member of the Red Cross of Constantine, Shriner at Morocco Temple, and member of the Royal Order of Jesters - Court 90.
John was predeceased by his parents Frank Osborn Bryant Jr. and Barbara Carter Bryant, brother Frank Osborn Bryant III, and niece Monica Marie Campbell. He is survived by his brothers Thomas Davis Bryant Sr. and Scott Paul Bryant (Julie), nieces Victoria (Justin) and Louise (Jordan), nephew Thomas Jr. (Jasmine), great nephews Jason and Justin Jr., great nieces Julia, Alaina, Zoey, and Ellie as well as numerous other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday July 19, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Arlington Park Cemetery and Funeral Home - 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
Funeral services will be on Friday July 20, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Andrews Episcopal Church - 7801 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211. Masonic graveside service will be immediately following funeral services at Arlington Park Cemetery.
