Obituary of John Orr
John Haskell (Hack) Orr, Sr., 89, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008. Hack was born in Great Falls, South Carolina on July 7, 1918 but was a long time resident of Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 2008 at Arlington United Methodist Church at 3:00pm. Reverend Larry Shields will officiate. Hack will be buried next to his wife, Jan Orr, at Arlington Park Cemetery. He was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church and University Country Club, a 32nd degree Mason, a veteran of the Army Air Corp, an avid golfer and a retired FIC of Woodmen of the World. Hack was a fun loving and eternal optimist who made people happy. He will be missed by his son, John H. Orr, Jr.; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Orr and John B. Kempski; three grandchildren, W. Bradly, Elizabeth M., and James B. Kempski; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, on Thursday, May 29, 2008 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Arlington United Methodist Church.
