Obituary of John (Jack) Haslett
John Robert Haslett (Jack) from Jacksonville, FL passed away at the age of 90 on December 17, 2015.
A family service will be held at the Arlington Park Funeral Home on December 21, 2015starting at noon followed by the burial at Arlington Park Cemetery.
Jack was born in Jacksonville, FL to Robert J. and Betty K. Haslett on December 6, 1925. He went to Jackson High School and entered the US Navy in 1943 and was Honorable Discharged in 1946 at the end of WWII. Following his military service Jack began his civilian career in the construction business and spent the next 50+ years working on residential, commercial and government contracts. Jack was also an avid boater and was an active member of the Captain's Club where he enjoyed numerous weekend boating trips in NE Florida and southern Georgia waterways.
Jack is survived by his wife Mable Gilhousen Haslett of Jacksonville, FL, his son and daughter in-law John Wayne and Gail D. Haslett, his daughter and son in-law Gail H. and James W. Ingalls, his granddaughter Dawn A. Cooksey, his grandson Matthew S. Haslett, his granddaughter Lauren A. Ingalls, his grandson Brandon J. Ingalls and his 4 great grandchildren Dylan, Paige and Ryan Cooksey and Chase Haslett. He is preceded in death by his brothers Andrew Haslett of Richmond, VA and William Haslett of Jacksonville, Fl.
