John proudly served in the United States Coast Guard. Following his military service, he began a long and steady career as a facilities technician at National Semiconductor. After retiring John relocated to Florida to be closer to his children, a decision that reflected his enduring commitment to family.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Donna Pomeroy and Tammy Pomeroy; his son Christopher Pomeroy; and his grandchildren, Kaitlynn Pomeroy, Isabella Pomeroy, Austin Gardner, and Kailani Pomeroy-Campbell. John had a passion for collecting M&M figurines, Hess Trucks, and Lighthouses. He enjoyed visiting old historical landmarks whenever he was able.
John had an inventive spirit-he was always trying to "MacGyver" every day objects into more useful tools. He found joy in playing Wii golf and bowling. Thanks to Amazon deliveries arriving like clockwork on the front porch, everyday felt like Christmas.
He was also a fan of NASCAR driver, Kyle Busch. In his younger years he worked on a pit crew at the Danbury Races. He enjoyed watching football games, Judge Judy, and Fox News were part of his daily routine.
