Obituary

John Henry Ronsse, 76, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in New London, Connecticut to John Henry Rose and Alice (Cooper) on March 24, 1942.

John served in the United States Navy for 21 years, including tours in the Vietnam War.  He traveled all over the world, and loved to talk about his adventures.  After his Navy retirement, he worked as a Civil Servant for the United States Government for 20 years.  During his retirement, his hobbies included Heraldry, Ancestry and spending Sundays watching his beloved Jacksonville Jaguars.   But most of all, he doted over his two daughters and five grandchildren who he was eternally proud of.

John was preceded in death by his mother Alice Elam and his father John Henry Rose.

He is survived by his brothers, James and Robert Ronsse and his sisters, Patricia Gallatin and Suellen Green; his daughter Sharon and her husband Sean Ostroski; his daughter Kelly and her husband Stanley Ball; and his five grandchildren: Orion Bopp, Halley Bopp, Jackson Ostroski, Evan Ostroski and Travis Ball.

An inurnment service will be held October 26th at 11am in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218 where military honors will be rendered.  A celebration of his life will be held directly after.
