Obituary of John Smith

John Paul Smith, 82, passed away at his home on April 1, 2008. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific and retired from working with the railroad. He was also a member of Terry Parker Baptist Church. John was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Allen Smith and Terry Paul Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Dot Smith; daughters, Cheryl Hardison (Adam) and Tina Clark; daughter in law, Cathy Smith; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend he will be dearly missed. Services to celebrate Johns life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:00p.m. in the chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road. The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6-8:00p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Arlington Park Cemetery.
