Joseph Russell Coulombe, 89 of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 27th, 2025. He was born on May 16th, 1936 in Berlin, New Hampshire. The son of Albert and Olive Coulombe. Russell was married to his high school sweetheart Gertrude Cote Coulombe. They married on September 28th, 1958 after his 23-month duty in the Philippines as an Army Security Agent. Russell was cited for his high dedication to duty.
He is survived by his three daughters Colette (Glen) Kinder of St. Augustine Florida, Karen Raynor of Jacksonville Florida, and Renee (Wayne) Rexrode of Jacksonville, Florida. Three grandchildren James (Emily) Kinder of Middleburg Florida, Vanessa (Jason) Reffner of Jacksonville Florida, and Justin Shepard of Jacksonville Florida. 5 great grandchildren Athena Kinder, Raelynn Reffner, Joseph Kinder, Riley Hilmes, and Zoey French. He leaves behind his sister Gloria Maxfield of Ocala Florida, and his brother Mark Coulombe of Berlin New Hampshire. He also leaves several nephews and cousins especially George (Sara) Jones of Hopkinton New Hampshire, and Suzanne Jones of London England. Russell was pre-deceased by his wife Gertrude and brothers Paul, Edward, and George Coulombe.
Russell made many accomplishments in his life. He attended New Hampshire Vocational Technical School until 1973, in which he then completed the needed courses to obtain his degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1977. He entered into the Berlin Post Office until 1978 when he accepted a post mastership in York Harbor Maine. Russell & Gertrude moved to Ocala Florida and there he pursued his Master's degree from the University of Florida in 1992. Russell had been a member of the American Legion for over 57 years, and from 1999-2000 he was Commander of the Chapter One Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid advocate for private schools. In 1973 he was a Mayoral Candidate for Berlin New Hampshire.
A service will be held at the Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road.
