Joslyn (Jock) Maxwell died August 7, 2023, at home. She was born in Exum, NC, March 3, 1930, the daughter of James Marvin Bennett and Curtie (Edwards) Bennett.

She graduated from Waccamaw high school and attended business college in Columbia, SC. While in Columbia, SC she met, dated, and married A.J. Maxwell. They celebrated 70 years of marriage January 2023. She was a housewife and worked over 25 years at Jacksonville University as a secretary.

Jock was a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL. Jock had a lovely singing voice and enjoyed singing hymns and praises to the Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who was also known for her cooking.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three sisters, and three brothers and their spouses. Surviving are her brother Jimmy Bennett (JaneEllen), sister Carol Bland (James) , son Andy Maxwell, daughters Lavon Rigdon (Jerry) and Marie Maxwell. Grandchildren Jessica Talkington (Chris), Jeremy Rigdon (Darrah), Tiffany Jones (Matthew), Daniel Batten (Morgan) Jordan Rigdon (Samantha). Great grandchildren Wesley Talkington, Sarah Talkington, Graham Batten, Walker Rigdon, Ensley Batten, and Emma Jones.
