Obituary of Joyce Ellis

Joyce N. Ellis, 86, entered into rest on November 6, 2014. She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She was born on March 7, 1928 to the late George Nichols and Miriam Sweet in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She moved to Florida when she was a child and loved the warm weather. She worked for many years with Aetna insurance and upon her retirement she went on to work with a private insurance company. She was a devoted mother and treasured her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathryn LeVan; sister, Marjorie Abbott and brother Phillip Aspinwall. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Jo Ann (Gordon) Mills, Julie Thompson, Randy (Tammy) Ford, Nancy Gathings, Hershel "Tommy" Ellis, Carolyn (Mike) French and Phillip Ellis; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great. She also leaves a host of numerous extended family members. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 10-11:00 with her funeral to commence at 11:00. Burial will be held immediately following the service in Arlington Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness Northeast Congregation, 11402 Dunn Creek Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218
