Joyce Ann Mackey, 77, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in Orange Park, Florida.

Joyce served Duval County for over thirty years as an independent school bus contractor specializing in transportation needs of Handicapped and Special Needs children, primarily serving the Southside and Arlington area of Jacksonville. She also served as the School Board Transportation President for two terms.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel D. Mackey, daughter, Lois A. Shortridge, and her mother, Myra Elks.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Pennington (CWO4 Bryan D. Pennington, USN, Ret.), son, Samuel D. "Joey" Mackey, Jr. (Kathy Mackey), sister, Marie Heathcox, six (6) grandchildren and eight (8) great-grandchildren.

An interment at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6921 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211, is scheduled Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11am, with Pastor Stavius Powell officiating.
