Juanita Frances Vanaman, age 86, daughter of Oscar and Thelma Pitts Dollar, who was born on October 29, 1929 in Greenville, Georgia passed away peacefully on October 12, 2016 at St. Vincent's- Riverside Community Hospice for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida surrounded by her family.
Juanita was a simple country girl from Georgia who became a military wife and a wonderful home maker. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Juanita loved to travel and her biggest hobby of all time was spending time with her family.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William J. Vanaman Sr. Her biological father, Oscar Dollar. Her mother and step-father Thelma and Harvey Gilbreath and her only brother Jack Dollar.
Juanita is survived by her 5 children: Jerry Gilbreath, David(Margaret) Vanaman, Deborah Weaver, William J.(Linda) Vanaman Jr and Teresa Vanaman. 7 grandchildren: Jeff(Tara) Vanaman, Amy(Rafael) Kutylo, Stephanie Reid, Gage Degnan, Alex Vanaman, Michelle(Jeff) Cregor and 7 great grandchildren: Trace, Byron and Jayden Vanaman; Brandon and Daniel Kutylo; Davie and Taylor Cogswell. 2 brother-in-laws; Dave (Kathy) Vanaman, Warren Vanaman, 1 sister in law, Dorothy Dollar and many other loving family members.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the doctors and medical staff who cared for our mother over the last few years, especially Dr. J. Salameh, Dr. Kani, Dr. J. Krishna, Dr. Telivala and then entire staff at Memorial Medical Center , 4 Centeral and 2nd Floor Heart Center.
The family will be holding a private memorial service on Monday October 17, 2016 at Arlington Park Cemetery.
