Obituary of June Quitter

June Chapman Quitter, 83, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009. She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and caring friend to all who knew her. June was born on June 17, 1925 to the late Oliver and Estelle Chapman. She is preceded in death by her loving husband George Joseph Quitter of 53 wonderful years and sister Ellen Jane (Carl) Sand. June loved nature and enjoyed watching the birds out her back window. Her favorite past time was reading. She is survived by her two daughters Georgianna (Rick) Schmidt and Deborah (Larry) Jones; two sons Kevin Quitter and Danny (Mary) Quitter; granddaughter Kelly Jackman, Ph D., and grandson Matthew Charles Quitter.

Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a visitation Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a funeral service at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 7801 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32211, (904) 725-6566 at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009. Interment will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests donations can be made to Tree Hill Nature Center.

The donations can be made payable to Tree Hill Nature Center and mailed to 7152 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.

Tree Hill Nature Center is located across the street from the cemetery where Mom will rest with Dad. Our Mom and Dad met at Burnett Woods Nature Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, a natural museum and educational center with a similar size and scope as Tree Hill. As they rest, they will now be able to "watch" the school kids visiting the Tree Hill Nature Center.
