Obituary

Karen Kahaly Ramsey, 54, daughter of Robert Anthony Kahaly, Sr. and Julia Ann Ferrell Kahaly, was born on October 6, 1963 in Columbia, SC and passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Ann Ferrell Kahaly.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Ramsey; her children, Gary Clay III, Eric Clay, Ryan Clay (Jill), Joey Ramsey, Katherine Steele (Brandon), and Jeffrey Ramsey; her grandsons, Elijah Fuller and Brantley Steele; her father, Robert Anthony Kahaly, Sr.; her siblings, Dianne Kahaly Muscorella (Joe), Robert Anthony Kahaly, Jr., Anne Marie Kahaly Toole (Joey); her nieces and nephews, Jenny Harper, Zachary Kahaly, Benjamin Kahaly, Caroline Toole, Joseph Muscorella III; great nephew and niece, Joey and June Harper and many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Karen attended Florida State University (Go Noles!) and was a graduate of Terry Parker Senior High School, class of 1981. She worked in the dental profession under Dr. Mashod for the last 5 years. She enjoyed her work and loved serving her patients, becoming very close friends to so many of them. Karen was active in PTA and on the board at Lake Lucina when her children were young. She became a secretary at the University of North Florida where she worked for many years.

Karen and Joe enjoyed going on many trips and cruises, attending concerts together, and supporting our Jacksonville Jaguars. They attended the Church of Eleven 22. She enjoyed baking her special Christmas cookies each year as she liked to hand them out to her family and friends. She always had a loving and kind heart for people. In the recent months while she was recuperating at home, she took up pencil coloring and made each of the family members specific pictures that she wanted to make sure we knew about. Most of all, Karen loved her family so much and enjoyed every minute with them. They were all such beautiful blessings in her life. Karen will be deeply missed and our hearts are broken but we know she rests in the arms of God.
