Katherine McIntyre passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the age of 97.  She was born to parents Roberta and Richard Newton on December 18, 1920 in Hickory Valley, Tennessee.  After moving to Lisle, Illinois, she met and married a childhood friend Ronald McIntyre.  The couple had two children, Rick and Betsy.

Katherine is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband; son, Rick and elder sister, Grace (Bill).

She is survived by younger brother, Richard (Rachael); daughter, Betsy (Tony); niece, Pat (Howard); nephew, Bill (Nancy) and many second and third nieces and nephews.

Katherine especially loved her son-in-law, Tony who could always make her smile.  She would want to thank Alice and Lavern, who made it possible for her to stay in the home she loved and would want to thank all of her friends who lifted her spirits with cards, letters, calls and visits, even when communication became difficult.

Katherine will always be remembered as a devoted mother, loyal friend, and devout Christian who faithfully served the Lord. She was laid to rest last week alongside her husband Ronald at Arlington Park Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 6pm, Friday, June 22, 2018 at Deermeadows Baptist Church, 9780 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32256 with Sr. Pastor Dr. Larry Yarborough officiating.
