Obituary of Kathleen Allen

Kathleen Virginia Brown Allen, 91, returned to our Heavenly Father after a brave battle with cancer on January 19, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family, at Satsuma, FL. Mother was born, February 14, 1920, in Camden County, GA, to Matthew A. Brown and Matilda Jane Robinson, the fourth of six children. She had resided in Jacksonville, FL since 1945, spending the past 8 years in Satsuma, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Sinclair Allen, parents and brothers, Nephi Jensen, Melvin Anthony, James Clayton, Ezekiel Elmo, Matthew Ervin Brown. Kathleen is survived by her children; Barbara Jane Cartin (G. McKinney II) of Welaka, FL, Henry Lamar Allen (Sharon) of Welaka, FL, Rodney Brown Allen (Brenda Jo) of Idaho Falls, ID and Tanis Lynn Barrus (Ronnie Neil) of Edmond, OK; 19 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren, for a total of 83 descendents. Because of her loving kindness, many others refer to her as mother and grandma. She leaves behind many special friends that she loved dearly. She has been a faithful life time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Saints, where she served in numerous positions. The service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 2:00pm, at the Arlington Ward Chapel, 7665 Ft. Caroline Road., Jacksonville, FL. The viewing will be held an hour and a half prior to the services. The interment will be at Zions Cemetery in Kingsland, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Haven Hospice of Palatka, FL. The funeral arrangements are through Arlington Park Funeral Home, Jacksonville, FL.
