Kathryn Weeden Lennon Kelly was born and raised in Cranford, New Jersey, the second of six children of Theo Jane David and Harry Degener Lennon. She was employed as a Secretary with the Western Electric Company, Kearney, New Jersey and later with the International Nickel Company, Wall Street, New York City.
After living on Long Island, New York for several years raising a family and being active in the community affairs, she moved to Jacksonville in 1971 and subsequently became active in the Jacksonville Bar Association Auxiliary. She joined the National Society of the DAR, Katherine Livingston Chapter in 1978, serving in many chairmanships, and then became Second Vice Regent, First Vice Regent and Regent successively. She was a Recording and Corresponding Secretary of the Chapter. Mrs. Kelly was elected Vice President of the Regents Council of Northeast Florida of the 1987-1988 term. Her mother and sister were longtime members of the Clearwater Chapter, Clearwater, Florida, and her Great Aunt was a Chapter Regent in Mobile, Alabama.
She was married to John F. Kelly Sr., a prominent municipal bond attorney. They had three children together; John Jr. (Paula) of Long Island, New York, Stephen Michael of Jacksonville, and Patricia Angela Carroll (Justin) of Belleview, Florida, three grandsons, John lll, Danny Kelly (Amanda), Richard A. Murray Jr., and three great grandchildren, Madison Kelly, Alanna Kelly, and Richard A. Murray lll.
She is preceded in death by her husband John F. Kelly Sr. and her son Stephen Michael Kelly. She is survived by her two children John and Patricia, and her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Arlington Park Funeral Home.
