Kenneth Claude McClurg, age 80, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Morse life Health System Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
He was born September 7, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Kenneth "Bill"and Ada Marie McClurg. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida, with his parents while still a young child.
On October 11, 1958, he married Sara Lee Watson, his childhood sweetheart. Together they raised three children: Kenneth Lee (previously deceased) George William "Bill" and Susan Lynn. He is survived by his wife, his 2 children; his three grandchildren, Stephanie, Kyle and Colin; and his large extended family of brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He worked hard to support his family as a supervisor at the National Linen Service Corporation and later as an electrician. He was an ordained deacon, Sunday School teacher and a member of the Florida Gardens Baptist Church in Lake Worth, Florida.
He will always be remembered for wearing his cowboy boots and hat, drinking sweet tea, his sweet-tooth and the love he shared with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ken's life on Friday, April 23rd, at the Arlington Park Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; funeral will immediately follow. Due to COVID, there is a 50-person limit for the service.
