Lafayette Kirkland, 77 , of Jacksonville, Florida died Friday, April 21, 2023 at the home he shared with his loving wife, Brenda Kirkland. Lafayette was born on February 21, 1946 in Hartford, Alabama to Angus Kirkland and Sallie (Harris) Kirkland.

After growing up in Hartford Alabama, Lafayette settled in Jacksonville, Florida where he met his wife Brenda Kirkland. They were married for 56 years. Lafayette enjoyed gardening. He led a wonderful life as a devoted father of two sons, Mark and Matthew and spouse to Brenda.

Lafayette is preceded in death by his father and mother, Angus and Sallie. Son Mark Kirkland, brothers, Fred, Herald, Gerald. Sisters, Jeanette, and Jean.

Lafayette is survived by his wife, Brenda. Son; Matthew. Sister; Clovette Adams and many nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 at 12:00pm in Arlington Park Cemetery. Viewing will be held the evening before on Monday, May 1st, 2023 at Arlington Park Funeral Home from 5-6pm.
