Lawrence (Larry) G. Fete III, age 79, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on September 3, 2026.

Larry was born on November 18, 1946, in Canton, Ohio to Lawrence Fete Sr. and Ruth Knight Fete. He graduated from Canton McKinley High School and went on to join the Navy, bravely serving our country in Vietnam. The Navy brought him to Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida, where he met the love of his life, Dolores, and they started their family. For 25 years, Larry worked for Duplex Business Forms and later for Home Depot for 8 years, where he earned the nickname “The Happy Plumber.”

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dolores Fete (Stec); his daughter, Angel Fete-Jones (Dan); his sons, Lawrence Fete III (Trey) and Kenny Fete (Tina); his cherished grandchildren, Blake Jones, Garrett Jones, Christopher Youngman, Victoria Hubbard-Fete, Trevor Weldon, and Kristin Michael; as well as eight beloved great-grandchildren, and his sister, Kay Lynn Mottice (Gary).

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Fete Sr., and his mother, Ruth Fete.

Larry will be remembered as an avid sports fan, always cheering on his Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, and Cleveland Indians. NASCAR was another sport he thoroughly enjoyed watching. He was also involved with the Knights of Columbus, where he made many lifelong friends with whom he played softball, worked Tootsie Roll drives, and participated in numerous charity events over the years. Larry was a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church starting in 1968, where he volunteered, coached baseball, and maintained the ball field.

Visitation and Rosary will be held on Monday, September 14th at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home the following day, Tuesday, September 15th, promptly at noon to take him to his final resting place at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
