Leona May Jipp went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2023 following a brief illness. She was born in Corso, MO, the eldest daughter of Robert Lee and Winnie Jane (Cochran) Mansfield.
Leona was a graduate of Bellflower School in Bellflower, MO and Sanford-Brown College in St. Louis, MO. She enjoyed a successful secretarial profession in St. Louis, MO and Allentown, PA before moving with her family to Jacksonville, FL in 1972. During her career in Jacksonville, Leona worked at Sverdrup and Parcel Inc., Smith & Gillespie Inc., and The R-A-M Professional Group Inc. Leona was a member of the Eastern Star and American Business Women's Association, Golden Key Charter Chapter, where she was Woman of the Year in 1977-78.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and parents; two sisters, Mary (Will) Hagar and Nora Bell aka "Bee" (Gene) Fine, other family members and dear friends. Keeping her memory close at heart are her son, Fred Jipp, of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Ruth Dye, and grandson, Connor (Sandra) Dye of Wilmington, NC; and nieces, nephews and friends. Leona will be laid to rest in Hartley, IA at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, FL, the United Way, or the charity of your choice.
