Leona Stanley, 93, passed away peacefully at the Community Hospice McGraw Center on August 25, 2021.

She was born to John and Mary Hughes on June 12, 1928, in Statenville Ga. She moved to Jacksonville Florida in 1934 to live with her aunt.

Leona attended Andrew Jackson High School. After high school she met and married Arthur Stanley and started their family. Leona and Arthur were married for 50 years. She was a homemaker and worked part-time as a Duval County school crossing guard at Lake Lucina Elementary School. Later she worked at Arlington Kindergarten as a cook and caregiver. Leona was a faithful member of the Regency Baptist Temple.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Neel and son-in-law Tommy; daughter, Nancy Hall; and son, John Stanley, and daughter-in-law Renee. She was the proud grandmother of Mary, Michael, Taryn, and Ryan; and the Great Grandmother of Parker, Caelyn, and Landon.

The viewing will be held on Monday evening at the Arlington Funeral Home on August 30, 2021, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Services will be held on August 31, 2021, at 10:00am with graveside services following at 11:00am.
