Obituary of Leonard Hammond

Leonard (Len) Lee Hammond, 65, passed away on January 12, 2009. He is remembered as a loving husband, supportive father, doting grandfather and trusting friend. Len is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Ruby Hammond of Boscobel, WI and sister Joan Hammond. He leaves to cherish his memories, his adoring wife of 44 beautiful years, Ilene Hammond; children, Thomas Hammond (Julie) and Teresa Libby (Shon); grandchildren, Logan, Lindsay, Megan, and Shane; sisters, Linda Hammond and Marla Matthews of Finnemore, WI; sisters-in-law, Judy Brodel of Marshfield, and Carol Maag of Woodman; mother-in-law, Avis Rice of Boscobel, WI; and brother-in-law, Emil Loether of Key West, FL. Len retired from the United Sates Navy after 24 years of dedicated service. Len was a Master Chief and Vietnam Veteran. Len loved to be outdoors and enjoying the simple beauty that flowers behold. Visitation for Len will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 10:00am-11:00am at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Arlington Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Arlington Park Cemetery.
