Obituary of Leopold Balaguer
Leopold Charles Balaguer, 92, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011. He was a loving Father, dedicated grandfather, brother, uncle and caring friend to all who knew him. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, on July 1, 1918 to the late Francisco and Rosa Balaguer. He is preceded in death by his other mother Maria; sister's Sally, Elisa, Elizabeth; brother Abe; niece Charlene and son-in-law Gene Nettles. He was an avid fan of the Florida Gators, became a NASCAR fan within the last several years, loved working for the railroad and proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He is survived by his daughter Evon Nettles; sister Adele (Ramzi) Ossi; grandchildren Chip (Toni), Dale (Karen), Gary, Scott (Michael), Michelle (Ingo); eleven great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; nephew Ray (Tess) and niece Sharon. Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a graveside service at 10:00am on Thursday, April 21, 2011.
