Lester Daniel Arnold, age 95, son of John A. and Ida Laughlin Arnold, was born November 28, 1920 in Dayton, Ohio. He passed away March 21, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

Lester served in the U. S. Army Air Force during WWII as a B-24 navigator in the 13th Air Force, 307th Bomb Group (Heavy), 370th Bomb Squadron in the Pacific. He flew 47 combat missions.

After the war, he returned to work with the Bell System and retired from AT&T in 1983. He had continued his service to the country in the Air Force Reserve until the mid 1950s. He served as navigator on C-46, C-119 and C-124 aircraft. His passions were flying, his work and, most especially, his family. He was totally devoted to his wife, Donna.

Donna was very active in the Red Cross as a swimming instructor. She was also very active in the YWCA and taught a wide variety of courses for them. She walked several miles almost every day to stay fit and healthy. She worked very hard to take care of her family.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles M. Arnold, and his wife Donna M. Arnold.

Lester and Donna are survived by their son, Stephen Arnold, Stephen's wife, Patricia Arnold, their granddaughter, Ann Stevens, and their two great grandchildren, Katelyn and Joseph Stevens.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 6 at 1:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery with full Military Honors rendered. Lester and Donna will be inurned together.
