Lillian "Peggy" Marie Chaney, 87, born May 8, 1930 in Springfield, Tennessee to Charlie Burkhead and Mary Maggie Gibson Burkhead, passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. Peggy grew up in Hopkinsville, Kentucky as one of 6 children. She moved to Jacksonville in 1976. She was a member of Destination Church. Peggy was a loving and kind person who always put others before herself and felt it was her calling to feed everyone who came to her home.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her 5 siblings, her husband, Donald Chaney, her son, Ray Adams, her daughters Dawn King and Suzanne Barbour, and her granddaughter, Sherry Cross. She is survived by her daughters Carolyn Campbell (Mark) and Lori Cross (Don), her son, Robbie (Wayne) Chaney (Janice), 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and lifetime friends.

The Chaney/Cross family will receive friends for a Visitation Gathering, 10AM-11AM, Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Destination Church, 88 Arlington Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211. A Celebration of Life will begin at 11AM with Pastor Chad Burgbacher officiating.
