Linda Frederick (85) of 2015 Dalamon Street, Jacksonville, FL 32225, was born July 21, 1927 at Port Elizabeth, St. Vincent, British West Indies, to parents Edward and Anna Frederick. She attended local schools and later became a teacher there, before leaving to St. Vincent to live in New York between 1953-1954, where she ultimately became a U.S. postal worker. After retirement, she moved to Jacksonville Florida in the summer of 1988, joining her longtime friends Jefferson & Sarah Jarvis, who had also retired there. Those who knew her best will remember her as a caring, frank, funny, generous, strong-willed, clear-minded, and devout Christian. She left us to be with her Lord from Jacksonville Memorial Hospital on June 29, 2013. She leaves to cherish her memory: Hattie Christian (sister), Alban Lloyd (brother), Tamecka & Twana Frederick (granddaughters); numerous nieces & nephews including those who visited her: Cameron & Maxwell Lloyd and Godwin & Darnley Frederick and Albert & Godwin Tannis (nephews), Modestine & Bernedette (Tiny) Frederick (nieces); a host of other family members; and many close friends & associates, principally: Jefferson Jarvis, Wilson Goodwin, Mark Kellam Sr., Hajo Iya, Gwendolyn Scott, Lisa Denkins, Marie Belony, Phyllis Cherault, Debbie Henry, Dorothy (Doris) West, Robyn Dandridge, Valerie Johns, Natalie Johnson, Patrice Benton,Tameka (Meka) Morgan, Donya Groover, Pastor Chad Burgbacher, Atty Haywood Ball, Dr. Charlotte Cotton, Dr. Earnest Ordonez, and certain staff members of Welcome Home Care, The Atrium, and Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. The family will recieve friends at Arlington Assembly of God, 88 North Arlington Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211, for a visitation on Tuesday, July 8, 2013 from 9:00am to 11:00am and a funeral service to follow at 11:00am.
