Obituary of Lois Strickland

Lois Rahn Strickland, 98, died Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the McGraw Hospice Center in Jacksonville. She was a resident at the Ashford Court Assisted Living at Marsh Landing. Born in Bryan County Georgia, she was reared with 12 siblings. She moved to the Jacksonville area in 1949 and was a member of Hibernia Baptist Church of Orange Park. Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Henry H. Strickland. Lois is survived by her two daughters, Virginia Williams and Evelyn Williams (Billy); one sister, Audrey Murphy; one brother, Cecil Rahn (Doris); four grandchildren, Debra Lynch (Carter), Grady Williams, Jr. (Peggy), Janice Donaldson (Myles) and Andrew Williams; six great-grandchildren, Abby and Dylan Lynch, Allen and Allison Williams, Anna and Elliot Donaldson; one sister-in-law, Mildred Strickland; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. There will be a gathering of friends at 1:30pm, Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm.
