Obituary

Lope Timbol, US Navy Veteran, Master Chef, Father and Husband passed away on August 14, 2018, at the age of 91 years.
A native of San Jose, Concepcion, Tarlac, Philippines, Lope enlisted in the US Navy at Subic Bay Naval Station on June 17, 1946, two years after the end of WW2. He served 21 years on four ships, the USS Neches, USS Midway, the USS Thetis Bay and USS Mississinewa and other billets before finishing his service with a honorable discharge and the Distinguished Service Medal.
He moved to Florida in 1975 and started a civilian restaurant food service career at Florida-Times Union before retiring.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elena, sons Antonio and Franco and daughter, Irene along with 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was interred at Arlington Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL on Saturday, August 18, 2018 with Military Honors with family and friends in attendance.
